In her video at art.afterhours artist Tracey Deep uses this quote and this resonates with me right now especially because we are in lockdown here in the UK and all we can do is walk in Nature. And so this poem struck a chord with me because this is how I feel about Nature. As an artist and a healer i rely on Nature to inspire and rejuvenate myself. and so the in relation to my own artistic practice Nature will serve part of this project in terms of the sounds, textures and colours she produces. |
I will be documenting my Arts Council project journey here.
I received notification that my application for funding from the Arts Council was accepted.
I had applied for funding to develop my artistic practice, which would consist of producing multifaceted artwork.
That will work across a few disciplines.
I will be first working and researching with Textiles and Weaving.
I booked award winning Textile Artist Rezia Wahid MBE who gave me a week long mentorship and masterclass in Weaving.
The support was invaluable because Rezia has been Weaving for many years so her knowledge and skill so beneficial for the work i am doing AND she also shares a love of community that made the sessions more meaningful.
Below are pictures from the session, you can also follow me on instagram to see the pictures.
